Get answers to common questions about Extensions - Removal.
Most removals take between 45 and 90 minutes, depending on extension type, quantity, and installation method. Your stylist assesses attachment points and works methodically to ensure safe removal; longer sessions are scheduled for heavily bonded or sewn-in systems.
When performed by trained stylists, Extensions - Removal rarely damages healthy hair. We use solvents, careful unpicking, and protective techniques; however, previously stressed or over-processed hair may need extra conditioning or a trim to maintain strength.
Arrive with dry, lightly styled hair if possible; avoid heavy oils or recent product buildup. Clean hair can speed removal, but if needed we’ll gently cleanse and prepare your scalp before beginning the process.
You may be able to reinstall new extensions the same day if your natural hair and scalp are healthy and adhesive residue is fully removed. Otherwise we recommend a conditioning period of one to two weeks before reapplication.
We use targeted solvents for bonds, careful seam opening for sewn-in wefts, and patient unbraiding for braided systems. Tools, protective barriers, and precise hands-on technique minimize stress and protect each hair shaft during removal.
After removal, use a gentle sulfate-free shampoo, deep-conditioning masque weekly, and wide-tooth combs. Avoid excessive heat and chemical services for several weeks; schedule a follow-up trim and consult your stylist for personalized restoration treatments.
